1. Scope and Basis of this Notice
1.1 This notice (the "Cookie Notice") describes what the website at the-scientists-notebook.com (the "Site"), published by Gradescale Mortelmans (the "Publisher"), places in the browser of a person who visits the Site (a "visitor").
1.2 This Cookie Notice also describes which other companies the browser of a visitor contacts during a visit to the Site.
1.3 The contents of this Cookie Notice were established by loading the Site in a clean browser on 20 September 2026 and recording what was set and what was contacted.
2. Cookies
2.1 Three cookies are set when a visitor opens any page of the Site, including pages that can be read without an account, and none of those three cookies is an advertising cookie.
2.2 The cookies, the domain on which each is set, the function of each and the lifetime of each are set out in the table in this clause 2.

3. Reason Cookies Are Set on Every Page and Their Removal
3.1 The cookies listed in clause 2 are set on every page of the Site because the membership and payment system is loaded site-wide and not only at checkout.
3.2 Clearing cookies and site data for the-scientists-notebook.com in the browser settings of the visitor removes all of the cookies listed in clause 2. Nothing on the Site depends on those cookies except the payment form, which sets them again when a visitor opens it.
4. Third-Party Services Contacted
4.1 The services that the browser of a visitor contacts during a visit to the Site, and the purpose for which each of them is contacted, are set out in the table in this clause 4.

5. Advertising, Analytics and Sale of Data
5.1 The Publisher: (a) does not use advertising trackers on the Site; (b) does not run a general analytics tool on the Site; and (c) does not sell data.
6. Browser Storage
6.1 Some pages of the Site store small amounts of data directly in the browser of the visitor rather than in a cookie. The calculators keep the most recent inputs so that the page still has them after a reload.
6.2 Data of that kind stays on the device of the visitor and is not sent to the Publisher.
7. Change Record
7.1 The referral programme (Viral Loops) was removed from the Site in September 2026, it is no longer loaded, and the two browser-storage entries that it created are gone.
7.2 The Site was measured again after that change, and this Cookie Notice records the result of that measurement.
